The Ko Gahn system of yoga is a very powerful healing system that came from Burma (now called Myanmar).  This is a warrior system of Yoga that was designed by and intended for warriors.  As such, practicing this yoga will greatly improve one's martial arts as well.  The yoga of this system engages the spine and core musculature in a unique and extremely powerful way, actually acting to strengthen the natural spinal curvatures, and focuses on the 9 primary energy zones (chakras) around the center line,  developing and cultivating 'prana' (healing energy).

Styles within the system

  • Dhanda Yoga: The warrior's staff
  • Longyi Yoga:  The warrior's bow
  • Letha Yoga:  A two person assisted yoga style designed to engage the practitioner's chakras on a very powerful leve.  Letha Yoga is extremely powerful and can be very intense. It should only be performed by appropriately instructed practitioners.  Dr. Griffiths often utilizes this powerful healing skill with patients who have severe restrictions throughout their spine.
